Menu and Marmalade – The latest from The Grove Cromer

The Grove‘s Late Spring menu is here, with a fresh taste of Norfolk’s coastal bounty. Chris Graveling whet’s our appetite with a preview of what’s on the menu.

As I’m sure you all know, the cold winter has had a severe delay on our crab fishing season, as the seas have not been warm enough for the crabs. However, the boats are now going out, and crab is back on the menu, as is lobster, when our fishermen can get it.

Also from the North Sea, is octopus served with sizzling chorizo and cardamom jam, as well as cod loin with roasted pistachio. Other local dishes include Norfolk lamb with rosemary honeycomb, or vanilla marinated, Hevingham chicken with spiced cauliflower and of course, it is asparagus season; we are doing ours with a poached quail’s egg.

For desserts, we have a special treat, as Mrs Graveling’s award-winning marmalade is taking a bow, featured in a whiskey and marmalade bread and butter pudding. Mum recently picked up two silver awards at the International Marmalade Awards at Dalemain House in Cumbria, for both her Citrus Marmalade and her Seville Orange Marmalade. We are all very proud of her, and she thinks it is one big joke and keeps mentioning Paddington.

The Grove’s latest menu can be accessed from The Grove’s profile page.
