We recently visited Blickling Hall, one of Norfolk’s finest stately homes.  Located near Alysham in North Norfolk, Blickling Hall is a favourite with the NorfolkPlaces clan. With it’s mixture of history, great architecture, lovely garden and park, activities and events we’re pretty sure you’ll enjoy visiting Blickling too.
Of course, one of the great reasons why we like Blickling is because it’s good for all generations. In particular, we find it’s somewhere where the senior members of the NorfolkPlaces team like to take the grandkids for a day out. In fact, on this occasion they went along with my eldest son, Luke (11).
We pretty much put this review in his hands. There’s a heavy slant towards a picture review because he loves photography. Normally that’s my territory but as I wasn’t present on this shoot he was promoted to chief photographer. Hence the slightly more quirky choice of main photo (to explore his artistic license I agreed he could add a “ink sketch” effect to the photo!)ot short of a word or two (until it comes to writing a review).
Kid’s review
Luke (11) –Â Blickling Hall is really interesting place for kids – the kind of place that sparks the imagination because it’s like being in a time machine back to the olden days! Mega fact for you: Ann Boleyn used to go there. Yep. If you believe in ghosts then apparently her headless ghost haunts Blickling Hall. woooohooaaah! wooohooooaaaah! Â
I enjoyed going to the Muddy Boots cafe – Grandma and Grandad always let me have something to eat that my Dad would probably say no to (erm, only if it’s close to dinner time – Dad).
Thanks Luke. Okay, so let’s start with a more conventional view of Blickling Hall.

Out of courtesy to other patrons photographs taken inside Blickling Hall should be done so without flash.
