Start planning 4 Purple Picnic week

Nelson’s Journey is a Norfolk based charity supporting bereaved children all over Norfolk. Each year they have school, individuals and workplaces join in with their Purple Picnic fundraising initiative.

Holding a Purple Picnic is simple and fun and the money you raise will support bereaved children all over Norfolk, helping them move forward positively with their lives. Death can be a really tough subject to talk about and in turn, can cause a feeling of isolation with children and families. Nelson’s Journey hope that by getting the community involved in holding a Purple Picnic, you will be able to remember someone special to you that has died, help spread awareness of their service and raise vital funds so they can continue to offer their service free of charge.

Nelsons Journey Purple Picnic

Last year The Purple Picnic week raised almost £11,000, that money could fund 44 Children or young people to attend one of their residential weekends, at which children can remember their special person, learn coping strategies for feelings like anger and also meet children in a similar situation, helping reduce the feeling of isolation.

The Charity also have the support of Great British Bake off contestant 2016, Kate Barmby who has created another three delicious recipes for you to make at your own picnic. Plus! If you send your fundraising into the charity by 15th August 2018, you will stand the chance to win a cake baked by Kate herself.

Thank you from everyone at Nelson’s Journey, for helping to bring back smiles to bereaved children in Norfolk.
