Magical Santa’s donation & Show Ball carnival theme

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has been chosen to benefit from the 2019 Norfolk Show Ball.

The event will take place on Friday, 21 June at Norfolk Showground. It will be themed on the Rio Carnival, with guests able to salsa under the stars, enjoy a riot of vibrant colour and effervescence, a sparkling cocktail and a taste of Brazil.

Money raised will go specifically to EACH’s nook appeal to raise £10 million for the building of a new Norfolk children’s hospice.

Carol Plunkett, EACH Norfolk Fundraising Manager, said: “The beating drums and vivid colours of Rio Carnival speak to your every sense, something that is important and thought carefully about as part of our care at EACH. For children whose life-threatening conditions only give them limited ability to see, hear, move and touch, the vibrant colours and music of our sensory rooms are perfect for them to relax and have fun.

“The nook will feature a range of facilities either restricted or unavailable at EACH’s current Norfolk hospice in Quidenham, including a large, state-of-the-art sensory room, and is sure to transform children’s palliative care for the county.”

The Norfolk Show Ball raises huge amounts of money for good causes. Next year’s will be managed by Softley Events and the dress code will be black tie, with a colourful twist.

Tickets start from £75 per person, with upgrade packages available. Corporate sponsorship packages are also available.

Thursford Collection Each Cheque

EACH thanks Thursford Collection for Santa’s Magical Journey donation

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has thanked Thursford Collection, home of the popular Santa’s Magical Journey experience, after receiving proceeds from last year’s spectacular.

The experience runs the last weekend of November and then every weekend until Christmas, giving children the chance to meet Father Christmas in a unique, fantasy setting.

EACH has been supported by Thursford Collection for the last three years and, most recently, played host to the charity’s nook ball in March that raised over £34,000.

Charlie Cushing, Thursford Collection Operations Manager and Events Coordinator, said: “It’s been an honour to help fundraise for EACH. I’m delighted we’ve been able to contribute £2,000 from our Santa’s Magical Journey wishing well in addition to providing the venue for the spectacular nook ball. Well done to all at EACH. Please carry on with the amazing work you’re doing to help so many families going through some very difficult times.”

Tina Burdett, EACH West Norfolk Regional Fundraiser, said: “We need to generate over £6 million a year from fundraising and rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income, so having the continued support of organisations like Thursford Collection is very important. We’re really thankful for their help so far and hope our relationship can continue into the future.”

EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Norfolk, as well as Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk, and supports their families.
