Henry, 10, to walk Peddars Way for EACH

A 10-year-old boy from Aslacton in Norfolk is setting himself a challenge these Easter holidays – to walk Peddars Way, from Thetford to the coast, for charity.

Henry Plume aims to walk the 46-mile (74km) costal path in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and is hoping to raise lots of sponsorship through classmates at Pulham Primary School as well as family and friends.

Henry, who has a brother and two sisters, said: “EACH is an excellent local cause and I’m really excited to be supporting them. I thought I’d combine some exercise before my SATs with some support for their brilliant work in East Anglia.”

EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia, and supports their families.

Tim Jenkins, EACH Norfolk Community Fundraiser, said: “I’m so thrilled to hear Henry is choosing to support EACH with his sponsored walk of Peddars Way – what a way to spend his Easter holidays! We support many families through the most difficult of times, but wouldn’t be able to continue providing our vital service without the support of our local community and people like Henry.

Toy boost for local children’s hospice charity

Norfolk based educational toy manufacturer Learning Resources® have shown their support for local life-threatened children by donating a selection of their products to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

This generous donation, which includes a range of toys from puppets to problem solving games, will be shared between EACH’s three hospices – Quidenham in Norfolk, The Treehouse in Ipswich and Milton in Cambridgeshire.

EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia and supports their families. This donation will be used both at the hospice and for EACH’s work in the community with children with life-threatening conditions and their siblings.

Rachel Turner, EACH Play Specialist at Quidenham, said: “On behalf of everyone at EACH I would like to say a big thank you to Learning Resources for this very generous donation. At EACH we support with the whole family so these toys will be used both by the children we care for and their brothers and sisters.
