This February Norfolk Wildlife Trust Cley Marshes is excited to host Jade Cuttle, a BBC Introducing poetic folk songwriter, for an exclusive evening of music and poetry inspired by the humble-hearted wisdom and resilience of nature.
Jade will be performing for us on Thursday 22 February. The night promises to be an enjoyable evening, with guests getting the opportunity to observe the beautiful scenery of the marsh, which is visible from the education centre, whilst listening to the performance. Tickets for the performance are £12 for NWT members and £15 for non-members, with a delicious supper overlooking the marsh included in the ticket price. Doors open at 6.50pm, followed by supper at 7pm and the performance at 7.45pm.
Jade said of her upcoming performance at Cley Marshes: “I’m incredibly excited to engage with an audience of nature-lovers who are eager to muse and marvel at its magnificence with me. Especially with the beautiful scenery of Cley Marshes as our backdrop. The songs and poems I’ll be sharing explore everything from leafless trees being stripped back to bare bone, haunted by the memory of warmth, to shards of ice lodged in the crack of a mountainside, clawing themselves free from the stone.”
Jade read literature at the University of Cambridge, and has won a number of competitions and awards such as ‘The National Seafaring Limerick Competition’ and the ‘Foyle Young Poets Award’. Her debut album, Leaves & Lovers, explores the fascinating similarities between trees and humans, and she has performed some of her work on BBC Radio 3 in association with BBC Proms (The Art of Splinters). Jade’s poetic-folk work has also been commissioned for BBC podcasts, celebrating Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary (I can’t fall in love with the night).
