Broadland View Fun Factory

Situated just a few minutes drive from Norwich, Broadland View is a Brewer’s Fayre pub restaurant offering good value pub grub in a family-friendly environment. Let the kids burn off some energy in the Fun Factory indoor play area while they wait for dinner to arrive!

Kid’s view

7 year old’s view:- Whenever Mum and Dad say we’re going out for dinner I ask to go to the Bear Place because I can play instead of sitting at the table. Unless I’m allowed my [Nintendo] DS. That’s different.

4 Year old’s view:- I like that my brother can’t go in the little kids’ area, but I can [just!] and I can go in the big kids area and go all the way to the top. At the top I go in the spaceship thing and look down and shout at Dad and he can’t see me!
Parent’s view
I think it’s fair to say that the Fun Factory is typical of play areas attached to family restaurants. They haven’t changed much in the past 20 years and they don’t need to. Why? Well, they perform the simple function of keeping kids entertained while waiting for their chicken nuggets and chips to be cooked. Kids are happy with the “Wacky Warehouse” formula of play area; Something to climb, something to slid down and plastic balls to role around in!

For us Broadland View will always be known as “The Bear Place” because this is what our eldest child calls it. The reason he nicknamed it thus is because when he had a birthday party there he got a small bear given by someone dressed in a teddy bear suit (I think it was under different ownership at the time.)

Duration of visit: Approx 2 hours (including dinner)
