BeWILDerwood

If you go down to the woods today….then keep an eye out for Boggles, Twiggles, Crocklebogs, BeWILDerbats and more characters from the enchanted world of BeWILDerwood. Dotted around this woodland adventure park you might see traces of Swampy, Moss, Leaflette and their friends.

Located in the Norfolk Broads, BeWILDerwood is themed as the home of the characters in Tom Blofeld’s stories, but you don’t need to be familiar with the stories to enjoy this fun family attraction.

It is certainly a place where everyone can join in and have fun, with Treehouses, zip wires, slides, jungle bridges, marsh walks, boats trips and more. So, get ready to be WILD!

Sliding down the Slippery Slope at BeWILDerwood!

Parent’s Review
Two kids – one challenge. Find a family friendly attraction in Norfolk that could cope with kids with excess energy to burn. We’ve been to BeWILDerwood before, in fact, so we knew what to expect, though there had been a few more additions since last time.

Like all attractions it is good to have a game plan before you arrive. On this occasion it was to get to The Broken Bridge and Slippery Slope first so the adrenalin gets pumping! Fine plan, except convincing a four year old who is just over the minimum height for Slippery Slope that hurling himself down a slope in a sack is a perfectly normal thing to do. He didn’t go for it, and getting down the steps to watch the rest of the family slide down was more challenging than the climb up because the volume of kids wanting to try the slides!

BeWILDerwood captures the imaginations of kids of all ages. Whether it’s looking out for Mildred in the Sccaaaaary Lake, making your way across the Broken Bridge between Twiggle houses, building a Den or escaping on the wobbly wires you’re imagination can make it even more fun!

We spent a good 5 hours here, which included only 30 minutes for lunch. So, you’re probably best to plan on being here most of the day.

Kid’s Review
4 year old’s view:- The slides are scary so I don’t go on them, but I ran round the maze and was first to the top and saw Dad was lost so I shouted to him and told him how to get through it. I’m the bestest in the world at climbing now, though my brother says he is but I am, so I like all the climbing stuff and when we made a den I found a stick like Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber! And Mildred the Crocklebog almost ate Dad but she snotted on him instead – that was funny!

8 year old’s view:- BeWILDerwood is one of my favourite places. In fact, if you ask Mum she’ll tell you I am always asking to go there. I really like the Slippery Slope -I like going down the wide slope with Mum, but Dad had to help me go down the steeper slope (ahem, a gentle push…) and then I went down it about 50 times (more like 5) until we had to go and build a den. We built the coolest den – Bear Grylls would’ve liked our den!

Den building at BeWILDerwood was a good activity for the Norfolk Places team

Field notes
Wear sensible footwear, and make sure they have decent grip.

Everything is outside, so bear this in mind.

You are in the woods, so there will be creepy crawlies and wasps!

Avoid the queues and book your tickets online.

Towards the end of the day lots of people queue near the snack shack to get the boat back. If you want to ride the boat there is a good chance the queue at the other end will be smaller.
