Pettitts Animal Adventure Park

“Pettitts Animal Adventure Park. Come along everyone, let’s go to Pettitts, Come along everyone, let’s go to Pettitts, Come along everyone, let’s go to Pettitts….” If you’ve ever tuned in to local commercial radio in Norfolk there’s a chance you’ve heard the catchy jingle for Pettitts. Once heard it will live with you forever!

Pettitts - Outdoor play area
Kid’s View
7 year old – I’ve been to Pettitts hundreds of times (not quite that many, but a lot!) and still love it! I love all the rides and the outdoor play area.
Parent’s View
On our first visit to Pettitts I noticed something marvellous as I walked to the entrance; It’s located next to the Humpty Dumpty brewery! “Kiddies, after you’ve had your fun in Pettitts, Daddy needs to treat himself to some fine Norfolk beers.”

Okay, so, we’re in the park. The kids spot the outdoor play area instantly and make a beeline for it. So, they climb, and slide and run around screaming for a good half an hour. Then we’re off to the rides – flying elephants, tea cups, roller-coaster, Toad of Toad Hall classic cars and more. The rides are a good intro for kiddies, and they’re bound to be enjoying it years later. My eldest is nearly 8 and he still has fun there and I do too!

Lunch choices are either go to one of the two outdoor fast food places for burgers, chips and pizzas, or there is a restaurant near the front of the adventure park with cooked meal choices.

Pettitts also play host to a good range of animals- goats, mini horses, tamarins, owls, lemurs, macaws, raccoons, rabbits, rhea and more.

I’ve got to mention Bingo the Clown’s show too. the kids love it. As a parent you might groan at the jokes, but your kids will laugh their socks off! The parks’ mascot, Maxi the Mouse, makes an appearance during the show too.

Finally, I will also mention that my kids have been spoilt by going to Walt Disney World, yet they still love coming to Pettitts – it has a certain charm that makes kids and families want to come back.

Field notes

Bring cash – the cafe doesn’t take cards (at the time of writing) and you’ll probably need some change to play in the arcades or to appease kids wanting to ride on the various ride-on machines.

Keep your entrance receipt – you can get reduced prices when you revisit.

Goats sometimes nibble clothes, and jump at you in their enclosure!
