It’s our 5th birthday!

When you’re a kid you look forward to your birthday every year with an aching urge for time to speed up ten-fold, so that you can reach that chronological milestone, and open up all your cool new presents.

Well, we’ve been quietly excited about our 5th birthday for a while, but (as is the nature of work) we were so busy we, er, kinda missed it. A bit. Sort of. You see, it depends on your point of view. NorfolkPlaces as an idea had been bubbling around for many years, but as website it started on 19th September 2011 (as norfolkplaces.com); That’s the day our “baby” entered the world so that should be our birthday, right? However, our first ever article was on the 27th, and that’s the date we’ve celebrated before. Either way, we’re a bit late to the party! I guess we could be like the Queen and have two birthdays…..

So, woohoo, great, we’re 5 years old. We can go to school, ride a bike without stabilisers, recite the alphabet and play with our toy cars in the sand pit. Ok, we’re not a little kid, but we kinda do some of that stuff anyway, just as long as we’re home in time for tea.

The past 5 years have been hard work but enjoyable. We’ve very much enjoyed helping local businesses and charities to raise their profile and to spread the word about how wonderful Norfolk is and all the great stuff that is going on. We’re hoping the next 5 years will be even better as we have some good plans in place to promote all that is good about Norfolk.
