Bure Valley Railway

Bure Valley Railway runs across the North Norfolk countryside from Aylsham to Wroxham, stopping at Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall.

This 15 inch gauge line is a delight for families and a great introduction for little ones to the world of steam locomotives.

Kid’s View
7 year old:- These trains are smaller than normal ones, so they aren’t so scary. It’s weird riding on them because you can feel them moving from side to side!

Parent’s View

We’ve done the journey from Aylsham to Wroxham a couple of times with the kids and it’s quite a pleasant ride through the North Norfolk countryside. There aren’t any toilets on the train (there’s not much room!) so make sure little ones have been for a wee before boarding!

Field Notes

Like with any train station please keep an eye on kids near the track

Stating the obvious, but small trains mean increased chance of bumping your head if you’re very tall!

NOTE: It’s been a while since last visited Bure Valley, so we hope to visit again in the near future and get some better pictures for you that aren’t just Thomas the Tank Engine related!
