Banham Zoo

Banham Zoo provides a tough choice when you enter: do you go to the left or to the right?! Go to the right and penguins, Mongoose, Howler Monkeys and Sea Lions will be amongst the first animals you see, but if you go to the left you’ll soon encounter Owls, Red Kangaroos, Emus and Pudu.

Before you decide which way to go, stop and check which animal feeds/talks are on because this may influence your route around Banham Zoo.

Kid’s view
7 year old:- The Sea Lions are flipping funny! (At the time of saying this he’s clapping his hand like they’re flippers. Sorry, he thinks he’s a comedian!) I liked the leopards the best because we’re learning about them at school. I also liked the Maned wolves -they’re weird because it looks like they’re on stilts!

3 year old:- Want an ice cream now! (a few minutes later…) I laughed at the monkeys and seals; they was so funny, and stink stinky too. Ice lolly ? Now?!

Parent’s view
Banham zoo is the sort of place you can visit all year round, which makes it a great family destination. Pretty much everything is outside, so if looks like rain you might want to bring a rain jacket! All the paths are well maintained, so you shouldn’t find yourselves trudging across muddy fields like some other outdoor animal attractions.
Would I take my family again? Yep, in fact we go to Banham Zoo at least once a year because the kids love to to see the tigers, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, the bird of prey display and all the other animals, and to the kids every visit seems fresh.
