Zoological Society of East Anglia
Place Category: Charitable Organisations
The Zoological Society of East Anglia exists to support worldwide conservation both overseas and through its projects at Africa Alive! and Banham Zoo.
ZSEA works to conserve endangered wildlife both in the UK and overseas. We support work in far flung parts of the planet, from protecting lemur’s in Madagascar to standing up for snow leopards in remote parts of Mongolia.
We were founded in 2013 and as a result continue to see both Banham Zoo in Norfolk and Africa Alive! in Suffolk thrive as centres for conservation and learning. We invest in improvements to the parks, to see conservation outcomes improve and send money and staff to specially selected partners who oversee conservation programmes in the wild.
The society is always looking for support from those who share our mission. Our concern is wildlife conservation. With your support we can do so much more to protect wildlife. Every year we have lots of ways to get involved.
From volunteering within one of our two parks, to taking part in one of our special events, joining the Wild Life Lotto or doing some personal fundraising.
We also have a strong network of individuals and businesses who provide us with support. As a charity, we are always seeking significant financial support and we’ll always welcome a phone call about how we can work together.
Looking towards the future we have big plans for our charity, for the work that we do and for the wildlife that we support. Our work goes beyond simple conservation work though.
Our educational outreach team visit schools, to share a love of wildlife and the environment. We also support serious academic research, develop the next generation of animal management specialists and ensure that we are improving recreational opportunities for our community in East Anglia by investing in our parks.
We hope that you can join us on our journey. Every person that gets involved will make their own difference, be it big or small.
