O Come, All Ye Faithful! Join children’s charity for ‘special festive evening’ in King’s Lynn
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is looking forward to a magical evening of carols at its Christmas service in Poringland, raising funds for the nook appeal.
The charity will host its family-friendly event at All Saints Church from 7pm on Tuesday, 18 December.
Guests will have the chance to join in with traditional carols, hear some heartfelt readings and enjoy performances from the Poringland Singers.
Following that, they will be able to chat with other visitors over delicious refreshments.
The nook appeal, that EACH is running to raise £10 million for the building of a new hospice in nearby Framingham Earl, will benefit from a retiring collection.
Stacey Addison, EACH Community Fundraiser for the nook, said: “We hope to see many happy and smiling faces at this special festive evening that takes place at the beautiful All Saints Church.
“Community support at events like this is crucial to our work, allowing us to continue providing families with a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time.”

Dartboard and dinner plates help EACH achieve second consecutive record-breaking month
A children’s charity is calling for more volunteers to help maintain its eBay shop after it enjoyed its best-ever months in September and October.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) brought in a record-breaking £14,206 from the online auction site in September, surpassing that again in October by bringing in £15,006.
EACH auctioned 1,102 items last month. The best-sellers were:
1. Harrows Quadro dartboard – £260
2. A set of eight Villeroy & Boch Wildberries dinner plates – £158
3. A job lot of stamps – £142
4. A set of 79 Disney pin badges – £135
5. Magimix food blender – £116
Jason High, EACH eBay Manager, said: “The recent growth and success of the eBay shop has been phenomenal. Already since the start of November, I’m delighted we’ve sold a set of 420 American funk soul vinyl records for £591. We reach customers not only across East Anglia, but across the country – one chap drove down from Leeds to collect a set of plates recently – and the rest of the world, including Russia, where we have a regular customer, and Singapore.
“We’re very lucky to have eBay champions across our 34 shops, who sort through donations and list certain ones online, however, the majority of the work is carried out by myself and a small team of volunteers.
“We could really do with a drafting volunteer to help photograph and list items, and a post room volunteer to help wrap and package them.
“If anyone has a few spare hours to help during the week, please get in touch. We’d love you to join us! Those already here are great company and a pleasure to work with. What’s more, money raised goes towards an extremely worthwhile cause.”
EACH’s eBay shop opened in its current form in March 2015. Items are listed, sold, packaged and posted at the charity’s Retail Distribution Centre (RDC) in Thetford. Among them over the last three-and-a-half years has been a collection of EACH Ambassador Ed Sheeran’s old clothes and a Boden hat tried on by EACH Royal Patron HRH The Duchess of Cambridge at the opening of the charity’s shop in Holt.
The RDC is also in need of an admin volunteer to help organise supplies for its shops and compile reports.

EACH thanks Norfolk business for £66,000 contribution
A supplier of specialist building materials, with branches in Norwich, King’s Lynn, Gorleston-on-Sea and Thetford, has been presented an award for raising £66,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
EACH Norfolk Fundraising Manager Carol Plunkett went to the 30th anniversary dinner of Plastic Building Supplies (PBS), at The Talk in Norwich, to thank the 200-odd people in attendance.
Suitably, the evening open to staff, customers and suppliers included fundraising activities such as a raffle and game of heads and tails, with proceeds going to EACH’s nook appeal that aims to raise £10 million for the building of a new Norfolk hospice.
Stephen Gibling, PBS Managing Director, said: “We’re extremely proud of our association with EACH over the past 25 years and very touched to receive their presentation at our anniversary event. We look forward to continuing our support for many years to come.”
Carol said: “We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and simply couldn’t provide the lifeline service that we do for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and their families, without the continued backing of businesses like PBS. A huge thank you to Stephen and everyone at PBS for their support over the years.”
